Mission
Defying Limits shines a light on hidden disabilities by breaking down our invisible barriers and helps individuals feel less alone. We invite like-minded people to join our community, celebrate our differences, and shed the shame and labels of our hidden disabilities. We award one scholarship per year to a rising college freshman who is successful despite having a hidden disability.
Meet
Ginger
My name is Ginger Ragaishis. In third grade I was diagnosed with a learning disability and it forever changed my life. I am encouraging students to become more comfortable with their learning disabilities and to not feel ashamed of it. Those of us who have struggled with learning disabilities would agree that our experience shapes us constantly, is never going away and cannot be solved with a potion, pill, or powder. But contrary to popular belief, we, the students with hidden disabilities, are not dumb. We are more resilient than most people give us credit for because we must navigate small challenges every day that the mainstream students do not. And we do this while still completing all the same tasks as a mainstream student.
